We are from LIU & SHIELDS LLP.


Liu & Shields LLP, Established back in 2005 in New York. Liu & Shields LLP is a dynamic, full service law firm combining its partners’ American and Chinese legal experience into a firm that cares for the personal and business needs of the Chinese and American community. We handle civil and criminal litigations in state and federal courts, trademark, patent, immigration law and copyright matters, business transactions, & real estate disputes. At present we are litigating a wide range of cases, including cases involving personal injury and wrongful death, medical malpractice, construction defects, trademark infringement, international trade, business, FLSA labor law and contract disputes, immigration, and criminal defense in federal and state courts. We have obtained multimillion-dollar results for our clients, and have special expertise in complex mass disaster tort cases involving significant damage claims. Our clients have homes and business interests in America, South America, British, Russia, Italy, Canada, China, Korea, Mexico, Japan, Sweden and France. Ying Liu ESQ.

Attorney Ying Liu has 20 years litigation experience in various municipal courts, the New York Superior County Courts and Appellate Division. She also practices in the Federal Courts in New York. Her practice is focused on all types of personal injury matters, civil litigation, immigration, criminal/traffic violations and divorce.

Carolyn Shields ESQ.
Carolyn is an American with nearly 50 years of experience practicing law. Carolyn was Editor-in-Chief of the University of Connecticut Law Review and graduated magna cum laude from the UConn. She is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States and in the state and federal courts of NY California, and has nearly 50 years of litigation experience in the courts of NY, CA, CT, NJ, Maryland, Michigan, Oregon, Washington & Montana, with some of her noteworthy cases appearing in the legal literature. She has published articles in the law reviews, and has written a casebook, Cases and Materials on Admiralty and Maritime Law, which she used in teaching at Loyola University.
